Program Summary – SAKHI Utpadan Samiti:
Sakhi, a flagship CSR initiative of Hindustan Zinc (Vedanta Group), empowers rural women in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand through sustainable livelihoods. Since 2016, it has mobilized thousands into Self Help Groups (SHGs), fostering entrepreneurship and economic participation.

Established in 2018 as an ISO 9001-certified enterprise, Sakhi Utpadan Samiti offers over 200 textile and 70+ food products through a growing network of 250 retail stores.

Through its brands—heartswithfingers, DaiChi, and Upaya Sakhi—it connects women artisans directly to markets, enabling consumers to make responsible purchases that benefit the makers.

Committed to inclusivity, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, Sakhi strengthens rural value chains and promotes economic independence and dignity for women in its communities.

Position Summary:
The Role: Creative Force & Boundary Pusher
We aren’t looking for someone to just “make things look pretty.” We need a designer who understands that a label on a jar or a banner at an exhibition is a bridge between a rural woman’s hard work and a conscious consumer’s home.
You will be the lead architect of our visual identity, tasked with pushing the boundaries of FMCG packaging and creating “stop-and-look” promotional materials.

  • Daichi: Clean, chemical-free food from the heart of rural India.
  • Upaya: Ethical fashion rooted in heritage.
  • HeartswithFingers: A curated digital marketplace for India’s rural brilliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Packaging & Labels: Lead the design and evolution of labels for Daichi and Upaya, ensuring they stand out in Modern Trade (supermarkets) while maintaining their soulful, rural roots.
  • Campaign Storytelling: Design high-impact visual campaigns that translate complex social impact stories into digestible, thumb-stopping digital and print content.
  • Physical Branding: Own the visual experience for exhibitions, pop-up stores, and stall branding—turning empty spaces into immersive brand worlds.
  • Multi-Channel Assets: Create compelling collateral for General Trade (local shops) and Rural Trade arms, tailoring the visual language to the specific audience.
  • Social & Motion: Manage and create daily content for social media, including basic motion graphics and video editing to bring our artisans’ stories to life.

Who You Are

  • A Technical Pro: 3+ years of experience with mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, or CorelDRAW is a massive plus.
  • A Visual Poet: You don’t just place text; you create hierarchy, use white space effectively, and understand the psychology of color in FMCG.
  • A Boundary Pusher: You are bored of “standard” layouts. You want to experiment with textures, sustainable packaging cues, and innovative typography.
  • An Efficient Creator: You can balance the “big idea” with the “tight deadline.”

Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design (FMCG, retail, or creative agency experience is highly preferred).
  • Software Suite: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are non-negotiable).
  • Production Knowledge: Deep understanding of print production, including bleed margins, color profiles (CMYK vs. RGB), and material textures for premium labels and packaging.
  • Multimedia: Proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro to create high-quality social media reels and brand films.
  • Layout & Typography: A sophisticated eye for typography and grid systems to ensure brand consistency across digital and physical touchpoints.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon experience set of the candidate and the HR policies of the organization.
